- Andrea Baruch de la Pardo, an actor, has taught theater in California and Europe. She privately coached authors to vitalize and enrich their readings for public appearances and book promotions. She has been a speaker at the Women Writing the West conference, Sister's in Crime (chapter of Mystery Writers of America), and the Marin Independent Publishers Association, and has given workshops at such venues as Squaw Valley Community of Writers, Book Passage of Marin, and Dominican College of San Rafael, CA.
- Judy Crowe is a writer and teaches English and writing at Sierra College and UC Davis Extension. She received a PEN Syndicated Fiction award, and her work has appeared in a number of publications, among them Real Fiction, Alaska Quarterly Review, Arizona Quarterly, and Prairie Schooner.

- Betsy Graziani Fasbinder is a novelist and freelance writer. A licensed psychotherapist and business consultant, her nonfiction work has appeared in a number of professional journals. Her fiction and essays have won a Jack London Award, an East of Eden Writers’ Conference Award, and a first-prize Floyd Salas Award for Fiction. She currently serves on the board of Sierra Writers and co-hosts the Nevada County Women’s Writing Salon, a quarterly event celebrating female writers.
- John Gardiner moved to Nevada County in 2008. His publishing credits include poems in Spillway, Poetry Flash, California State Quarterly, and Blue Satellite, as well as in two Anthologies of California Poets and ten small collections of poetry and prose. As a professional actor, he has performed in more than 30 productions of Shakespeare plays, including stints as a resident actor at South Coast Repertory in Costa Mesa and CSC Repertory in New York. Gardiner teaches Shakespeare and poetry on a part-time basis at the University of CA, Irvine. He also hosted readings and workshops in Laguna Beach for 12 years.
- Christine Irving is a poet and collage artist. Her experience with the spoken word includes co-authoring, producing, and performing the two woman play A Rose in Winter. She has authored a book of poems, Be A Teller of Tales, and a CD, Originals. Christine is a founding and current board member of The California Alliance for Women which produces an annual four-day retreat for women. She has extensive training and practice in sitting in council.
- Joan Keyes owns Dovetail Publishing Services providing bookmaking and graphics services to the local and national publishing community. Before working in publishing, she was a professional stage manager and lighting designer in the northeast. She loves all things lexical.
- JoAnn Marie. She is employed in the banking industry, has worked in bookstores for ten years, retired from real estate lending after 23 years, and has enjoyed reading forever.
- Patricia Dove Miller moved to Nevada County five years ago from San Diego, where she taught writing and meditation retreats at Zen Mountain Center. She also taught at the San Diego Writing Center, the Shiho Center for Creative Arts, and led haiku workshops in the desert. Her work has appeared in the Fallbrook Haiku Society Anthology, Tidepools, Into the Deep End, The Trail Companion, and other anthologies. She has recently completed her MFA in creative writing at Vermont College, and now teaches creative writing classes and workshops in Grass Valley and Nevada City.
- Bill Pieper, a long-time Nevada City and Sacramento resident, is author of the novels Belonging (2006), Gomez (2005), the award-winning novel Fool Me Once (2003), and the novella collection So Trust Me (2000). He studied creative writing at Sacramento State University, and in September 2006 was voted Best Local Book Author in the Sacramento News & Review reader poll. His work is in many library collections and he co-teaches a popular course in literary history.
