Come Experience “Trashionista Art!”

The Art show will run from March 24 through April 7, 2008, and will feature a mixed media installation by members of Troupe de Trash, including original art by Debbie Dean, Arielle Lowe, Dolores Guetebier and Photography by Kristin Oliver.

Troupe de Trash is a close knit family of women who design haute couture from recycled trash. Spanning several generations, these women share their love of art, life and each other through their shows. The Trashionistas return once again to the Center for the Arts on March 28 and 29, in It’s Easy to be Green, an extravaganza of haute fashion, fabulous models, local dancers and the incomparable John Deaderick as Master of Ceremonies.

Kristin Oliver, Photographer, is based in Northern California and travels throughout the world. She considers respect to be the most effective amulet and curiosity to be the best medicine. She has a particular love of portraiture - both documentary and designed depictions of people can fascinate her for hours. Her bag of tricks include her camera, coffee, laughter, words and movement. See her work at www.oliverfoto.com.

Debbie Dean will be showing her *Mother Daughter* series at the Center show. These five pieces were done in '93 and '94 while living at Cobblestone Gardens in North Columbia with a house full of kids. Check out www.troupedetrash.net.

Arielle Lowe is a born and raised Nevada County artist. Since her finger painting and tutu days, Ms. Lowe has presented in and studied visual, audio, textual, and performance arts in Los Angeles, Boston, New York, and Hawaii, however she maintains that the learning environment most beneficial to her is inside her own mind. Arielle hosts a monthly spoken word open reading at the Ridge Stop Cafe in North San Juan, Ca. Her art will be exhibited during the month of September, 2008 at the same location. When questioned about what creative medium she works in, Ms. Lowe responds with a grin and a laugh, "Whatever I can get my hands on."

Dolores Guetebier, Art Amiss, lives among the tall evergreen trees in the Tahoe National Forest and is the artist in residence for the Ridge Stop Cafe, custom designing their logo. As the High Dumpstress in the House of Resourcery, she enjoys illustrating the troupe’s fabulous couture for her private collection. Some of her fashion illustrations can be seen on their web site www.troupedetrash.net.
