Ladyfest aims to provide a platform for a variety of arts disciplines while creating a space for the women in our community to meet, network, and explore ideas on how to work together on one another’s projects and strengthen our community. Ladyfest is a benefit to the Center for the Arts and a variety of local breast cancer awareness organizations.

The first ever Ladyfest was organized in Olympia, Washington in August 2000 where Sleater-Kinney, Cat Power and Neko Case performed and over 2000 people attended. Since then, the event has branched out into other urban centers such as Amsterdam, Atlanta, Berlin, London, Dublin, Chicago, Los Angeles, Madrid, San Francisco, Toronto, Melbourne and more. Each Ladyfest is organized primarily by local volunteers and independent of other Ladyfest events in other states or countries. Most proceeds raised from each festival are donated to non-profit organizations.
