With new songs and old, many originals and some familiar tunes, Musician/Activist Nory Fussell says, "The philosophy of the children’s story Stone Soup holds valuable lessons for us these days. I ponder it often and I’m beginning to think of this show as 'stone soup music'. For over twenty years I’ve had the good fortune to make music with friends: John Coale and my daughter Sage Zimmerman in various incarnations of the folk’n’roll group, Changing Sky; Paul Kamm and Gary Campus, way-back-when with Sierra Express; and Lee May and John in The Acafellas. Joining us for the evening will be Barry Angell on mandolin and banjo, Rudy Darling on the fiddle and Cedar Hennings on stand-up bass. My songs are written on the acoustic guitar – they’re quite simple. But each player is invited to add their “cabbage”, their “onions”, their chops and ideas, and each song seems to get tastier and more nourishing with every gathering. Our rehearsals begin around a big kettle of a homemade stew, bread and conversation and then we “go to work” playing."
